Franklin Mint Gibson Girl Bride Doll in Montgomery, AL

Franklin Mint Gibson Girl Bride Doll

STUNNING - This is the original Franklin Mint Gibson Girl Bride Doll, authorized by Dana Gibson, great granddaughter of Charles Dana Gibson, original creator of the legendary Gibson Girl. The doll is hand-painted bisque porcelain, with dreamy green eyes and a bride's blush on her cheeks. Her iconic high-necked gown is created in creamy ivory satin, point d'esprit lace, and fine tulle, with the traditional high lace collar and leg-o-mutton sleeves with dozens of tiny seed pearl buttons, all accented with hand-tied silk miniature roses. Under her gown, a monogrammed slip, in the fashion of society brides of the day. She wears her treasured bridal jewelry - her mother's triple strand of pearls and a 24-karat gold wedding band - and carries a lush bouquet of hand-tied ivory satin roses with pearl and satin streamers. She stands approximately 23" tall and was the winner of the Direct Purchase Doll of the Year Award from Doll Reader Magazine; the doll originally sold for $300. She has a porcelain head/upper torso, arms, and legs, and comes in the original box with her hang tag and original stand. She comes from a nonsmoking home, where she was only briefly displayed and then gently and lovingly stored out of the light. No scratches or chips in the porcelain, no stains or tears in her gown. I also have a display case for her. PLEASE . . . serious offers only! THANKS!
